James D. Wells Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James D. Wells of Columbus, Indiana, who passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James D. Wells to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Abe Wells and Elma Elizabeth Whitis Wells; and his brother Steve Wells. He is survived by: his wife Nancy K. Moore; his daughters, Debra Guthrie (Larry) of Columbus, Pam Zimmer (Paul) of Martinsville and Karen Carman of Columbus; his grandchildren, Zachary Pollert (Courtney), Jacob Zimmer, Keeton Carman (Cierra) and Kollin Carman (Taylor); his great grandchildren, Cecelia, Rori, Kalena, Isaiah, Adalyn and Aiden; and his siblings, Ellis Wells (Diana), Janet Smith, Louise Roberts (Wally), June Corbin (Chuck), Charlotte Hadley (Ken) and Linda Harris (Marvin).
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Homes and Crematory - Washington St (1029 Washington St, Columbus, IN 47201). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In memory of Mr. Wells, memorial contributions may be given to the Columbus Softball Hall of Fame or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
