He was predeceased by: his parents, Evan Fields and Lonie D. Fields; his wife Doris Elaine Ballard; his stepmother Mae; his brothers, Dennis, Buel and Arlis; his son-in-law Steve Michaels; his grandson-in-law Jamie Esparza; and his great grandchild Kaylee Perry.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Michaels, Jimmy Fields, Virginia Dixon (Russ), Sheila Davis and Troy Fields; and his stepbrother J. W. McCauley. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
