It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Virginia Baynum of Columbus, Indiana, born in Newport, Kentucky, who passed away on January 25, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Bernard Smith and Ruth Smith (Nadler); her husband Vernon "Duke" A. Baynum, Sr.; her son Donald Baynum; and her brothers, James and Gerald Smith.

She is survived by : her children, Lisa Hladik (John), Vernon Baynum, Jr. (Beverly), Richard Baynum and Chris Baynum (Mary); her brother Daniel Smith (Vicky); her grandchildren, Andrew Baynum (Jaime), Matthew Baynum (Rachel), Nathan Baynum, Zachary Baynum (Elise), Bryan Hladik (Jenna), Michael Hladik (Haley) and Lindsay Hooker (Dakota); and her great grandchildren, Guinevere Baynum, Thomas Baynum, Mary Lou Hladik, Annabelle Hladik and Maren Baynum.
