He was predeceased by: his parents, John Grider and Tilda V. Grider (Anderson); his granddaughter Shelby Grider; his brother Earl Grider; and his son-in-law Phillip Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty G. Grider; his children, Barbara Anderson of Indianapolis, Randy Grider (Julie) of Rock Hill, SC and Robert Grider (Anita) of Columbus; and his grandchildren, Chris Anderson (Sarah), David Anderson (Becca), Paige Grider, Claire Grider, Lindsey Grider, Lauren Grider and Owen Grider. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
