She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Louise Sowards Cox (Gibson) and David Wilson Sowards, Sr.; her brother David Wilson Sowards; her daughter-in-law Connie Sue Delay; and her stepfather Carroll T. Cox.
She is survived by: her sons, Gregory Todd Delay of Seymour, IN and Jeffry Alan Delay (Tracey) of Avon, IN; her grandchildren, Haley Nicol Davenport (Justin), Ryan James Delay (Lauren), Justin Nicholas Delay (Mary) and Madison Grace Delay; her great grandchildren, Bradley James Delay, Evalyn June Davenport and Joselynn Paige Davenport; and her siblings, Mary Louise Freyn of Scipio, IN, Dale Edward Sowards of Fredericksburg, VA, John Henry Sowards of Elizabethtown, KY and Timothy Allan Sowards of Huntington, WV. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
