He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Hatton McKain (Howard Hatton) and Sandra Sue Ruddick Hatton; and his siblings, Robert Hatton (Judy), Linda Russell (Don), Jerry Hatton (Mary) and Larry Hatton.

He is survived by: his children, Cindy Oakes (Denny), Stacie Hatton-Perry (Todd) and Greg Hatton (Marcia); his grandchildren, Dustin Crussel, Kyle Muncy (Dedra), Demi Oakes, Ryan Hatton (Jenni), Tyler Hatton (Alyssa), Bryce Hatton, Erika Connolly (James), Jerimey Perry and Kristy Perry-Robertson (Justin); his great grandchildren, Devin Crussel, Mason Muncy, Emberlee Muncy, Alaya Muncy, Oliver Muncy, Charlotte Hatton, Eleanor Hatton, Wickham Hatton, Gwendolyn Hatton, Bentlee Curry, McKenzie Perry, Mia Perry, Cobe Perry and Blake Robertson; and his sister-in-law Linda Hatton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (316 N Chestnut St, Seymour, IN 47274). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial donations may be made in Bill's memory to Our Hospice, Walker Chapel or First Baptist Church of Seymour.

Jacob Crouch wrote a sympathy message

“I met Bill around 60 years ago, and we have remained friends since. We worked together on classic and race cars until 1975, when I quit racing. I hadn't seen Bill for many years, because we had moved several times. I believe it was 2010 that we spent the winter at Lakeside Ranch in Winter Haven, Florida. We were riding our bicycles and noticed a Motor Home being hooked up in the park next to ours. To our amazement, yes, it was Bill. Our friendship renewed, we were neighbors for 10 years. RIP”
