He was predeceased by: his parents, Dothal Collins and Ruby Collins; and his sister Connie Pyatt. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Patton; his daughter Gretchen Barnett (Michael); his grandchildren, Bryan Drake (Gretchen Fulz), Allison Shannon (Wyatt) and Cynthia Barnett; his nephew Travis Pyatt (Renada); his great-niece Josie; and his nephew Carter.

Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
