With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Chad Alan Gettinger of Connersville, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 16, 2025 at the age of 44. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marsha Ann Scott Gettinger and Gary Gettinger; his father-in-law Gary Edwards; his grandparents, Ben, Betty Gettinger, Fred and Wanetta Scott; his aunt Peggy; and his uncle Walter Jackson.
He is survived by: his pets, Lily, Stella and River; his wife Cathy Gettinger; his children, Wyatt Wayne Gettinger of Connersville, Addisyn Rose Gettinger of Connersville and Kane Alan Gettinger of Connersville; his siblings, Gary Chris Gettinger (Kelly) of Connersville, Craig Gettinger (Angela "Peanut") of Connersville and Carol McQueen (Ellis) of Connersville; his mother-in-law Helen Edwards of Connersville; his siblings-in-law, Lisa Copeland (Josh) of Falmouth and John Edwards of Connersville; his aunt Carol Linginfelter (John); his uncle Jim Scott (Sharon); his nieces and nephews, Kenzie Werner (Alex), Caigan Gettinger, Cody Chappelow (Samantha), Kyle Chappelow, Kevin Chappelow (Hannah), Pacey Gettinger, Diesel Gettinger, Joshua Copeland (Skylar), Lilly Copeland and Dylann Paige Edwards; and his great-nephew Oliver Chappelow. He is also survived by several cousins and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Free Fair Association for a special project in Chad's honor.
