He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence A. Sr. Day and Frances M. Sheets Day; and his siblings, Laurence Day Jr., Marion Day, Don Day, Wallace Day, Robert Day, John Day, James Day, Charles "Chuck" Day, Elizabeth Williams, Georgie Day and Harriett Jackson.

He is survived by: his sons, Paul D. Jr. Day (Daulphine) of Connersville, Glenn A. Day of Connersville and Fred D. Day (Stephen Evans) of Shelbyville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Bryson Day, Brandon Day (Melia), Kaleb Nichols (Meghan) and Hilari Nichols; his great grandchildren, Ayden Nichols, Mia Day, Zavier Nichols, Nora Nichols, Monroe Day and Maverick Nichols; and his siblings, Gene Day of Connersville and Myrna Best of Boston, Massachusetts. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Missionary Church (1501 Indiana Ave, Connersville, IN 47331). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
