He was predeceased by : his parents, Amel Short and Adeline Dobson Short; his wife Barbara Gene Singleton Short; his son Rick Short; his grandson Wyatt Davison; and his brother Glen Amel Short.

He is survived by : his daughter Melissa Cesar (Chad); his sister Lorraine Mullins (Phillip); his grandchildren, Courtney Smith (Justin), Savanah Davison Cesar (Edwin Windell), Shelby Rhodes (Dylan) and Sophia Cesar; and his great grandchildren, Skyla, Larken, Linken, Ledger, Lux, Lainey, Henry and Wesley.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home (201 N Oak St, Corydon, IN 47112).
