He is survived by: his wife Debbie Shanahan Claxton; his stepdaughter Kelly Gugel; his grandson Walker Ballard; his siblings, Steven Claxton (Sue), Cheryl Eickler (Scott) and Julie Hopper (Steve); and his pet Maggie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
