He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Seth Nye and Catherine Ann Walsh Nye; his wife Ida Mae McIntosh Nye; and his brothers, Joseph, William and Gene Nye.
He is survived by: his children, George Morgan Nye (Stacy Mattenley), James Russell Nye (Cheryl) and April Rose Sanders (Scott); his sister Molly McClellan; and his grandchildren, Sheree Byrd (John Prather), Deirdre Jones (Richard), Kristina Black (Shane), Brittany Nye, Mariah Jo Nye (Katie), Jimma Henderson (Jesse Zink), Chance Nye, Rena Patton and Megan Dones (Alec). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home (201 N Oak St, Corydon, IN 47112). A masonic service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
