He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Shaffer and Annabelle Langenburg Shaffer; his wife Carol Manning Shaffer; his daughter Christine Carol Shaffer; and his siblings, Herman Lewis Shaffer, Mary Daugherty, Doris Blair, Carl Lee Shaffer and Murl Shaffer.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Shaffer, Sr. (Sherry), Cindy Bratcher (Mike) of Elizabeth, Indiana. and Beth Ann Ferree (Bruce) of Elizabeth, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Brandon Bratcher (Stephanie) of Elizabeth, Amanda Smith (Frank) of Elizabeth, Jeffery Shaffer, Jr. (Amy) of Elizabeth, Sheldon Shaffer (Gina) of Elizabeth, Scott Ferree (Nicole) of Elizabeth and Kristin Warren (Jamie) of Prospect; his sisters, Marilyn White (John) of New Albany and Carolyn Miller (Dale) of State College, Pennsylvania.; his nephews, Ronnie Shaffer (Jane) of Charlestown, Indiana. and Roger Shaffer (Norlene) of Charlestown, Indiana.; and his caregiver Cindy Lillipop.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home (318 East Chestnut Street, Corydon, Indiana 47112).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial gifts be made to, Elizabeth Fire department or Bethesda Cemetery Fund (Checks made payable to Lighthouse Church).
