The memory of Barbara Stoup (Covington, Indiana), who passed away on October 18, 2025 at the age of 96, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Manford Holycross and Mary Holycross (Moudy); her husband Fred Stoup; her siblings, Kleeman, Earl, Wayne, Harold Holycross, Virgie Hathaway, Mazie Hines, Hoskins, Hattie Krabbe and Mary Mildred Fisher (Middo); her children-in-law, Don Gill and Paula Stoup; and her friends, Doris Dunham (Jones), Beverly Friedland (Prather) and LaVada Lawlyes (Webb).
She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Gentrup (Ken "Cruiser") and Dwight Stoup; her grandchildren, Donny Gill, Kayla Jackson (Joshua) and Eric Stoup (Teresa); and her great grandchildren, Eli, Iris Gill, Farah Jackson, Katelin, Maggie and Tobias Stoup.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Shelby & Keller Funeral Home and Cremation Services (622 3rd St, Covington, IN 47932). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lower Mound Cemetery (15456 N County Rd 200 E, Covington, IN 47932).
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barbara's honor to the Kirk Gentrup Scholarship Foundation or to Fountain Springs Memory Care in Covington to provide special activities to residents.
