It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Thomas Schaeffer of Covington, Indiana, born in Mellott, Indiana, who passed away on April 4, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, George Schaeffer and Elsie Schaeffer (Lighty); and his stepfather Garland Sams. He is survived by : his wife Bethel Schaeffer; and his children, Tom Schaeffer (Julie), Ron Schaeffer (Kathy) of Columbus, IN, Debbie Scrogham (Jim) and Donnie Schaeffer (Becky). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
