We announce the death of Jacob Lape of Covington, Indiana, who passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 98. Jacob’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Lape and Thelma Lape; his wife Patricia A. Lape; his brother Dale E. Lape (Liz); and his son David J. Lape.
He is survived by: his son Alan J. Lape; and his grandson Duncan J. Lape (Morgan).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home - Covington (420 3rd St, Covington, IN 47932). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Covington Chapel (420 3rd St, Covington, IN 47932). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at the Lower Mound Cemetery (15462 N County Rd 200 E, Covington, IN 47932).
