He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Richard Abernathy and Patricial O. Abernathy (Drollinger); his son Bruce Alan Abernathy; and his brothers, Scott Abernathy and Rick Abernathy.
He is survived by: his son Dylan Samuel Abernathy; his grandchildren, Dayton and Leslie; his siblings, Stan Abernathy (Tonya), Kenny Abernathy (Marriann), Lafayette and Michelle Bowers (Matt); and his niece Stephanie Bennette. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (10 S Stringtown Rd, Covington, IN 47932).
