He is survived by: his wife Loretta Hughes (Mycroft); his sons, Bryan Hughes (Jeannette) of Cannelburg and Curtis Hughes of Greenwood, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Eric Blair (Katie), Trey Hughes, Audrey Gines (Sam), Kara Graber (Tanner), Courtney and Alaina Hughes; and his great grandchildren, Jaylee, Elsie, Conor, Brylee, Mila and Ada.

Memorials may be given in Phillip's name to the First Church of Christ in Covington, Indiana.
