He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Carroll and Ella Ida Carroll (Dodson); and his brother Jim Carroll. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Ann Clark; his children, Tony Carroll and Jennifer Motz (Brett); his grandsons, Austin and Wyatt Motz; and his sister-in-law Sue Carroll. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
