He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Carpenter and Nelda Binford Carpenter; his brother Don Carpenter; and his in-laws, Robert and Margaret Groves.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Groves; his children, Kevin Carpenter, Kelly Taylor (Dan) and Kathi Wilson (Guy); his grandchildren, Gabrielle Bargeloh (Chad), Maggie Pitre (Christopher), Brant Wilson, Olivia Wilson and Lillie Taylor; and his brothers, Jack Carpenter, Bill Carpenter (Nancy), Jim Carpenter and Kenny Carpenter (Terri). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jan Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sanders Funeral Care (315 S Washington St, Crawfordsville, IN 47933). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Greenlawn Cemetery (E 500 N, Darlington, IN 47940).
