He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryan Mathews and Mary Katherine Laswell Mathews; and his siblings, Nancy Brown, Clarence Mathews and Robert Keith Mathews.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Bryan, Max and Michael Kyle; his wife Clarica Hoskins Mathews of Cross Plains, Indiana; his children, Paula Marie Waller (William) of Cross Plains, Indiana, Bryan Keith Mathews (Dawna) of Versailles, Max Kevin Mathews (Brenda) of Dillsboro and Michael Kyle Mathews (Rachel) of Batesville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Dustin, William Paul, Rodney, Shilo, Matthew, Mary Abigail, Dylan, Samantha and Amanda; and his sister Janice Cook of Cross Plains, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
