He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Edythe; his grandson Alex Pietraszak; and his brothers, Jim and John Troemel. He is survived by: his children, Michael (Ronda) of West Lafayette, IN, Stephen (Teri) of Grandville, MI, Lawrence (Donna) of Hickory Hills, IL and Victoria Jean Pietraszak of Las Vegas, NV.; his sister Betty Oechsle of Lake Villa, IL; and his grandchildren, Adrienne, Marissa, Trent, Craig, Samuel, Christopher, Joshua, Bradley and Thomas. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
