He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Chesner and Carl Chesner; his wife Peggy; and his siblings, Maureen, Carol and Carl.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Leitz (Eric), Darlene Triezenberg (John), Dan Chesner, Jr. (Lisa), Adam Craig (Betsi), Betsy Craig and Meredith Shuckford (Tim); and his brother Robert Chesner. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
