He is survived by: his wife Martha Gilbert; his sisters, Carolyn Gilbert Reed and Helen Gilbert Letterman; his children, Susan Gilbert Aubrecht (Steven Aubrecht) and Mark Gilbert (Laura Gilbert); and his grandchildren, Sabrina, Shayla and Skyler Aubrecht.
