Though Evelyn may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Evelyn touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Bays Sr. and Geraldine Bays (Adelsperger); and her siblings, Henry Bays, Jr., Marianne Wirtz, Phyllis Hansen, Frances Plemich and Susan Bays.
She is survived by: her sisters, DeEtte Wirtz (Bays) of Lake Station, IN and Sally "Sarah" Beckmann (Bays) of McKinney, TX. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre (606 E 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (321 E Joliet St, Crown Point, IN 46307).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Evelyn's name to the donor's choice.
