He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sopher and Leona Sopher; and his brother Chris Sopher. He is survived by: his wife Jan Sopher; his children, Laurie Kogut, Greg Sopher and Lisa Thompson (Darren); his grandchildren, Brian Kogut (Liz), Zachary Kogut, Kaitlyn Grimmer (Nate), Gabrielle Sopher and Ava Thompson; his great grandchildren, Fabian Piedra and Emma Grimmer; and his siblings, Jim Sopher, Linda Greenberg (Mike), John Sopher and Brenda Massat (Dave). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (321 E Joliet St, Crown Point, IN 46307).
