It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Dimitri (Crown Point, Indiana), born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on April 7, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia; his parents, Angelo Dimitri and Antigoni Dimitri; and his siblings, Bessie Valcu, Kay Tsilis, Helen Shomos, George Mussie, Harry Mussie and Pete Mussie.
He is survived by: his children, Diane of Indian Land, SC, Mark (Suzanne) of Ashburn, VA and James R. of Lake Wylie, SC; and his grandsons, Brandon, David and Daniel Dimitri.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre (606 E 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A masonic service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral (8000 Madison St, Merrillville, IN 46410).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in James' name to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral and/or Shriners Hospital for Children.
