He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Hess and Norma Jean Hess; his brother Joseph Hess; his sister-in-law Sue Hess; and his nephew Benjamin Hess.
He is survived by: his children, Kelly Renier (Darren), Jamie Trubach, Kerri Dhlamini (Nqobile), Steve Somers (Lucy), Melissa Somers (Ben Faught) and Kim Anderson (Josh); his grandchildren, Allison, Peyton, Gavin, Kyle, Jack, Benjamin, Josephine, Owen, Adeline, Peter and Levi; his wife Diane; and his brother Justin Hess (Regina).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cremation Reception Centre (606 E 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
