He was predeceased by: his father Larry Kaplan; and his grandparents, Wesley Cain (Nancy), Patricia Miles, Sam and Irene Kaplan.

He is survived by: his mother Pamela Gonzalez (Bernardo); his sisters, Jennifer Kaplan Johnson (Brian) and Julia (Jason) Bunge; and his nieces and nephews, Jurian, Jarod, Jase, Kaelin, Kayla, Zoey and Eliza. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
