He was predeceased by : his parents, Tilden Penix and Doshia Penix. He is survived by : his wife Sharon Rose Penix; his siblings, Alka Taylor (late Eugene) and Kenneth Penix (Patty); and his sister-in-law Gloria Pigue-Miller. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and close friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre (606 E 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, May 7th 2024 at the Maplewood Memorial Cemetery (555 S Indiana Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307).
