He was predeceased by: his daughter Shelby Read; his grandchild Jordyn; his brother Wayne Read; and his parents, Norman Read and Rita Read.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia S. Read; his sons, Steven Read (Sarah), Matt Read, Travis Read (Kelly), Chad Read (Brittany) and Tyler Read; his grandchildren, Daniel, Luke, Jonah, Kaylyn, Daytona, Charlotte, Travis Jr. and Memphis; and his siblings, Robert "Rufus" Read (Trish), Juanita "Neddie" Williamson (Dan) and Phyllis Messinger (Brad).
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Oak Ridge Cemetery (1966 Thornton Lansing Rd, Lansing, IL 60438).
