She was predeceased by: her brother Leo Wadle; and her parents, Mathias Wadle and Josephine Wadle. She is survived by: her husband Egon Ruffing; her children, Christine Forsythe (Paul), Claudia Ruffing Motta (David), Lisa Sonntag (Dennis), Robert Ruffing and Richard Ruffing; and her siblings, Manfred Wadle (Annamarie) and Irmgard Schaan (Joachim).

She was a member of the Salesian Auxiliary hosting charity balls.
