He was predeceased by: his parents, Eward J. Buchelt and Martha Buchelt (Edin); his wife Vivian Klyczek (Schmidt); his daughter-in-law Diane Dale; and his sister Jerri.

He is survived by: his children, Scot R. Buchelt (Shelly), Stephen Paul Buchelt (Diane), Robin Buchelt and Linda Spaulding; and his grandchildren, Valerie Lawson, Stephen Buchelt, Sara Buchelt, Bryan Paul Buchelt (Amy), Laura Buchelt, Erin Staum (Jeff), Robynn Buchelt, Allyson Ellegood (Joe), Jayme Buchelt, Whitney Herold (Zander), Benjamin Paul Buchelt (Molly) and Viktor Buchelt. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
