It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Richard Helmer (Crown Point, Indiana), born in Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Helmer and Yvonne Helmer; and his sister-in-law Patricia DeCrom. He is survived by: his wife Gina Helmer; his children, Kristina Ochman (Jim Bazant), Katherine Malin (Josh) and Andrew Helmer (Gina); his grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan, Justin, Sydney and Tatum; his brothers, Bob Helmer (Donna) and Joe Helmer (JoEllen); and his siblings' children, Kelsey, Sam, Grace, Jacob, Jaycee and Michael.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens (8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307).
