He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Smith and Nanie Joseph (Clemons); his former wife Sandra Smith; his stepson Lance Abrams; and his siblings, Troy Smith Jr., Charles Smith, Thelma Minix, Madeline Wireman and Lynn Patrick.
He is survived by: his wife Ines Prater-Smith of Culver; his children, Chris Smith (Kristy) of North Judson, Tammy Hartman (Fred) of North Judson and Lisa Gundlach (Matt) of North Judson; his stepsons, Jeff Abrams (Lori) of North Judson, David Abrams (Virginia) of North Judson, James Prater (Michelle) of North Judson and Greg Prater (Christy) of Woodruff; and his siblings, Arthur Manns of Jackson, Dulcine Hunnicutt (John) of Knox and Barbara Robinson (Larry) of Knox. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel (108 S Main St, Knox, IN 46534). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
