He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schum and Lucille Schum (Hartz); and his siblings, Robert Schum, Rita Sitzman, Agnes Ubelhor, June Allicott, Jean Bates and Christine.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Schum of Dale; his children, Paul Neyenhaus (Christine) of Dale, Daniel Neyenhaus of Tell City and Jennifer Harris (Robert) of Troy; and his sisters, Esther Gehlhausen of Ferdinand, Verena Tretter (Leo) of Ferdinand and Beverly Vowels (Kenny) of Evansville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
