He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper Smith and Lyda Smith (Hoover); his grandson Darin; his son Darin Smith; his siblings, Ronnie Smith (Donna), Bobbie Smith and Lavada Upchurch (Kelly); his parents-in-law, Dale and Velma Haynes; and his siblings-in-law, Phillip Haynes and Susie Haynes.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Smith (JoAnn); his daughter Sheila Shockley (Jeff); his grandchildren, Kayleigh Montagna (Michael) and Lark Richardson-Hawke (Sebastian Hawke); his great grandchildren, Dalton Owen and Adalynn Gunn; and his siblings-in-law, Bruce, Roger Haynes and Margot Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
