He is survived by: his wife Betsy Akers; his children, Michael Akers (Denise) of Palm Coast, FL and Suzanne Verwold (Sean) of Danville; his grandchildren, Caleb Akers (Erin) of Florence, KY and Hannah Hannell (Matt) of Danville; and his great grandchildren, Joseph, George, Brooklynn, Nova and Caiden.
