He was predeceased by: his brother Butch Smith. He is survived by: his wife Janette Lehr; his son Jeff (R. J.); his daughter-in-law Kim; his daughter Shannon; his siblings, Mike, Les, Rick and Annie; and his brother-in-law Brian. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, which includes, greats and great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association.
