She was predeceased by: her father Alvin J. Swegan Sr.; her children, Jeffery A. Perman and Joice Alexis Perman; and her brothers, Carl E. Swegan and Earl E. Swegan.

She is survived by: her husband Ronald J. Kiess of Decatur; her son Jeremy A. Perman of Siloam Spring, AK; her stepsons, Eric E. Kiess (Chris) of Hoagland and Timothy A. Kiess (Kim) of Ft. Wayne; and her brothers, Alvin J. Swegan Jr. (Ruth) of Youngstown, OH and John N. Swegan of Elkhart. She is also survived by sister, Margaret L. Back; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
