He was predeceased by: his father Wayne Burns; and his siblings, Randy Burns and Debra Burns. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Burns of Decatur, Indiana; his sons, Jason Burns (Leslie) of Cincinnati, Ken Burns of Decatur, Chad Hackman of Kendallville, Tony Hackman of New Haven and Kevin Hackman (Bri) of Delphos, Ohio; and his brothers, Bill Burns (Carol) of Kingston and Dana Burns (Jennifer) of Portland, Indiana. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Preferred memorials are to the Adams County Bowling Association.
