He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph F. Marbach and Viola Marbach (Grote); his wife Lorna Marbach; his son Donald Marbach; his siblings, Edward Marbach (Joyce), Norma Mueller (Fritz), Linda Brenneke (Norbert), Florence Bulmahn (Hugo), Edith Nierman (Wilmer) and Edna Mesing (Ralph); and his sisters-in-law, Donna Marbach and Helen Witte-Marbach.

He is survived by: his children, Rex Marbach (Donna) of Decatur, Indiana, Bonnie Masterson (Gary) of Wabash, Indiana, Brenda Fifer (Ed) of Monroeville, Indiana and Ronald Marbach (Lori) of Decatur, Indiana; his brother Richard Marbach of Decatur, Indiana; his grandchildren, Christopher Masterson, Tyler Masterson (Merry), Jessica Wyant (Doug), Nicholas Fifer (Blair), Emma Franke (Logan), Camie Hormann (Riley) and Corey Marbach (Megan); and his stepgrandchildren, Douglas Masterson (Kelsey), Stephanie Martin and Adam Masterson. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren.

Preferred memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church; St. Peter Immanuel Lutheran School or Heart to Heart Hospice.
