He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Robert R. Welch and Helen E. Welch (Wittwer); and his brothers, Reg Welch, Richard Welch and Donald Welch.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lynn Welch of Decatur; his children, Jason Welch (Sheryl) of Berne, Aminda Brewer (Scott) of Decatur and Lucas Welch of Decatur; and his close friend Joe V. Schwartz. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Boundless Church of the Nazarene.
