She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen E. Girod and Irene M. Girod (Peck); her husband Richard D. Johnson; her grandson Myles Hemrick; her great grandchild Timothy Johnson; and her brothers, Arno, Gery, Kent and Ronald L. Girod.
She is survived by: her children, Delin R. Johnson (Denise), Daryl B. Johnson (Kimberly) of Decatur, Indiana, Julie A. Knudsen (Chris) of Decatur, Jenny I. Lemmon (Clay) of Huntertown and Janel R. Hemrick (Marc) of Morrow, Ohio; her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Girod of Decatur, Charlsie Girod of Decatur, Susan Girod of Ossian and Patricia Jackson of Monroe, Indiana; and her grandchildren, Evan Johnson (Callyn), Ethan Johnson, Erin Johnson, Katie Powell (Rob), Madison Johnson, Lydia McConnell (Luke), Ben Johnson (Madison), Ris Knudsen, Isaac Knudsen, Audrey Sattison (Noah), Nathan Lemmon (Kalaina), Clara Hemrick and Gabriel Hemrick. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Cornerstone Community Church (909 E Monroe St, Decatur, IN 46733).
Preferred memorials may be made to Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church, Adams County Community Foundation, or Myles Ahead Animal Sanctuary and Rescue.
