He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Counterman and Esther Counterman (Johnson); his siblings, Paul, Victor Counterman, Elane Lough and Gloria Krick; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Ray, Irene Lloyd, Shirley King and Esther Counterman.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Catherine "Kate" Counterman of Decatur; his sons, Kevin E. Counterman (Jill) of Willshire, OH, Roger A. Counterman (Renea) of Decatur and Richard L. Counterman (Lindee) of Decatur; his brother Hank Counterman of Fort Wayne; his siblings-in-law, Larry Hindenlang (Helen), Gary Hindenlang (Gina), Jim Lloyd, Terry King, Louise Ray and Diana Bauman (Mike); his grandchildren, Jonathon Counterman (Katie), Joseph Paul Counterman, Lexy Sloney (Ryan) and Brandi Affolder (Tyler); his great grandchild Nadya Counterman; and his stepgrandchildren, Deztinee Andrews, Dylan Andrews, Delilah Andrews and Dawson Andrews.
Preferred memorials are to Common Ground Nazarene Church or Adams County Community Angel Diabetes Fund.
