He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald A. and Mary K. Gage (Leonard); his wife Anne M. Gaffer; his brother David Gage; and his brother-in-law Thomas Gross.
He is survived by: his children, Kate Brickley (Ryan) of Decatur, Taylor Gage (Brean) of Decatur and Becca Speaks (Jordan) of Convoy, OH; his siblings, Steve Gage (Carla), Pat Gage (Judy) and Joan Gross of Decatur; and his grandchildren, Jayci, Jaron, Jevan, Anndyn, Colsen, Kenadie, Levi, Kinlee, Alivia and Oaklynn.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home (225 Adams St, Decatur, IN 46733). Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (414 Madison St, Decatur, IN 46733).
Memorials may be made to the A.C.C.F. Decatur Volunteer Fire Department Scholarship Fund.
