He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Helmbright and Madeline M. Helmbright (Swearinger); and his stepson Robert Dancsok. He is survived by: his wife Nancy A. Helmbright (Mies) of Decatur; his children, Kenneth Helmbright of Springboro, OH and Cynthia Steele of Springboro, OH; his stepdaughters, Kimberly Dancsok of Centerville, OH, Denise Dancsok of Bellbrook, OH and Tonya Jones (Doug) of Englewood, OH; and his sister Darlene Shively of Wintersville, OH. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
