He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Walstra and Mary Walstra (Hamstra). He is survived by: his wife Janis DeFries; his children, Chris Walstra (Kristi), Tricia Jurs (Adam) and LeAnne Nee (Jeff); his grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie, Max, Hudson, Isaac and Elliot; his great grandchildren, Griffin and Nora; and his siblings, Marilyn Hamstra and Larry Walstra.
