He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sr. Prater and Carol Prater (Whiteman); and his daughter Amanda Cooper. He is survived by: his fiancée Pam Cooper; his daughter Kristina Byram (Bruce); and his sister Chris McElroy (Bud). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Roselawn American Legion Post 238 (4181 IN-10, De Motte, IN 46372).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
