Orville F. Mathies Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Orville F. Mathies of Dubois, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony Mathies and Irene Mathies (Heichelbech); his brothers, Ernie Mathies, Virgil Mathies and Earl Leo Mathies; and his siblings-in-law, Ken Schwenk, Janice Sermersheim and Judy Beckman.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Mathies; his children, Sherrie Knies (Kevin) of Celestine, Jill Baker (Greg) of Plainfield, Audrey Mathies of Huntingburg and Barry Mathies of Dubois; his sisters, Laverne Mathies-Ausenbaugh (Tom) of Evansville and Anna Mae Schwenk of Ireland; his grandchildren, Mekenna Wilson, Ashton Kahle, Kobi Knies, Kennedie Giglio, Kendal Nay, Jared Baker and Nathan Baker; and his great grandchildren, Jax, Ellis, Brynne Wilson, Trey, Jane Kahle and Lenora Nay.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the St. Isidore Parish (5564 E St Raphael St, Dubois, IN 47527). Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Becher & Kluesner Funeral Home - Downtown (214 E 7th St, Jasper, IN 47546). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Raphael Catholic Church (5564 E St Raphael St, Dubois, IN 47527).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Parish or a favorite charity.
